On July 5-8, 2021 the International Industrial Trade Fair Innoprom-2021 was held in Ekaterinburg (Sverdlovsk region). It united experts and manufacturers from different countries with a common goal - to search for and implement new technologies and solutions in such areas as mechanical engineering, energy efficiency, additive technologies, industrial automation, mining and processing industries. This year, for 11 years of holding the trade fair, Italy has become the first European country as a partner of Innoprom.
Industrial and technological partnership between Italy and Russia in practice
The partnership between Russia and Italy date back centuries ago. Trade and culture, military cooperation and science - joint projects of our countries are being successfully implemented in all the most important spheres of life.
The Italian hall at Innoprom occupied an area of 3 000 square meters, comprising the stands of more than 50 companies from Italy, including Enel. We are always ready to share our experience in providing reliable access to the sustainable and safe energy.
On the opening day of the Innoprom-2021 exhibition, our stand was visited by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin. Enel Group’s Head of Europe, Simone Mori, presented to him Enel X fast charging stations, as well as the bifacial solar panel.
Simone Mori, together with Arkady Dvorkovich, President of the Skolkovo Foundation, also took part in the panel session "New Horizons for Sustainable Development: Between Technological and Scientific Innovations" within the framework of the Italy-Russia business forum. The forum was opened by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov and the Minister of Economic Development of the Italina Republic Giancarlo Giorgetti.
“Russia has a huge energy potential and opportunities for the development of renewable energy sources. Currently, together with Rusnano, we are studying the possibility of producing green hydrogen at the Kolskaya wind power plant. In addition, we pay great attention to working with startups; innovation hubs operate in different countries of Enel Group presence. In Russia, such a hub was opened in October 2017 in Skolkovo.”
During the Innoprom exhibition, Enel Russia signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Rostov Region on the joint work for the construction of our second wind farm in the region, in case this project is selected in a tender for the construction of renewable energy facilities. The signing ceremony was attended by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.
Moreover, our colleagues from Enel X Rus signed an Agreement with the Development Corporation of the Sverdlovsk region on cooperation in the field of e-vehicles’ charging infrastructure development in the Sverdlovsk region. Enel X fast charging station was located at the entrance to the Fair and was available during the whole period of the event for those who wanted to recharge their e-cars.
Enel Russia representatives participated actively in the business agenda of INNOPROM-2021 Industrial Fair. Thus, during his speech at the stand of the Sverdlovsk region within the Investor Talks Russian-Italian session, Enel Country Manager in Russia Stephane Zweguintzow shared that when the Sverdlovsk region is ready to propose prospective sites for wind energy, Enel will be happy to assess them and, if necessary, to conduct joint monitoring of the wind resource.
Head of Enel X Rus Alexey Leonov took part in a plenary session “How big cities can get “wiser” already now?” explaining why charging infrastructure for EVs has to become an integral part of smart cities.
Our stand offered not only the possibility to see new technologies, but also to listen to the lectures. Our experts shared their experience in the field of sustainability, e-mobility, innovations, and renewables. Everyone could learn our technologies and ask questions.
Innoprom was a space to share our global experience and opportunities.
