The vast cold territories of the Murmansk region, the steppes of the Azov region, the Stavropol Territory and the forest lands of Tatarstan are separated by thousands of kilometers. But there is something that unites all these regions, in other respects very different.
It is a sincere commitment to the development of renewable energy sources.
To solve this problem, we need a team of like-minded people, an atmosphere in which everyone can share ideas and experience. We need a constant support and interest from government officials, investment and the opportunity to demonstrate achievements and successes.
The Tatarstan International Forum on Energy Efficiency and Environment (TEF), which has been held in Kazan since 2019, became such a platform for interaction of people who care about renewables.
Enel Russia has been an active participant in TEF since 2019. Our goals are consonant with those outlined at the forum by the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov:
“The implementation of the principles of energy efficiency is associated with a decrease in energy consumption costs, an increase in the resource efficiency of the energy sector, and a decrease in the negative impact on the environment.”
“International trends in energy development are getting stronger in Russia. The focus on sustainable development is strengthening, plans for decarbonization are being elaborated, the number of major consumers who want to be provided with clean electricity to cover their needs is growing.”
In addition to participating in the forum, Enel Russia cooperates with the Republic of Tatatrstan in other formats. Since 2019, a number of documents have been signed that defines various vectors of our partnership. Among them is the Memorandum of Intent signed by Enel X Rus and Tatenergo, aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of electric vehicles and V2G technologies. Another agreement was signed between PJSC Enel Russia and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan on the cooperation in the development of renewable energy sources.
Regular exchange of plans and ideas between representatives of the region and the company is no less important. In March 2021, a meeting was held between Enel Russia General Director Stephane Zweguintzow, General Director of LLC Enel X Rus Alexey Leonov and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Albert Karimov. The meeting agenda included discussing the issues of microgeneration, provision of electric transport with charging infrastructure, development and application of technologies for bilateral exchange between electric transport and the grid.
Clean, environmentally friendly, affordable energy, adherence to the principles of Sustainable Development, creating value for everyone - this is what we strive for, developing cooperation with the regions of Russia and finding more and more like-minded people every year!
