Today, the business footprint of Enel Russia includes five regions. The Urals, Stavropol Territory and Tver Region host our conventional generation - power plants with installed capacity of about 9.4 GW.
In the Murmansk and Rostov Regions, Enel Russia is implementing projects on construction of alternative generation. Two wind power plants with total design capacity of 291 MW will be located there.
However, we are not going to rest on our laurels and will explore new opportunities for development.
For this purpose, on April 10 and 11 we are taking part in the Tatarstan International Forum on Energy Efficiency (TEF), which is held for the first time at Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center.
This year the forum brought together the International Symposium “Energy & Resource Efficiency and Energy Saving” and the International Specialized Exhibition “Energy. Resource Saving ”, which have been held for more than 20 years. The forum business program includes about 20 round tables, business meetings and panel discussions.
Traditionally, the events involve top officials of the Republic, representatives of federal and regional authorities, honored guests from regions of the Russian Federation and foreign countries. This year, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Anton Inyutsin will take part in the forum.
And, as usual, our business program within the Forum is very rich.
Head of Enel Russia, Carlo Palasciano Villamagna, opened the Forum together with President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
“In the modern world efficient use of resources and energy saving are the key elements to be competitive and effective. Today there are lots of new solutions and new technologies and, of course, we have to follow the trend”
On the same day of April 10, we signed an important renewable energy agreement with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic.
We are planning to exchange information and study wind speed, temperature, atmospheric pressure to identify opportunities for development of renewable energy in the region. International experience and knowledge in this area of Enel Green Power, Global Renewable Energy Unit of Enel Group, will be the basis in this direction.
“This agreement expands on our initiatives in Tatarstan, where we are glad to continue working with the aim of developing new projects in the energy field”
This is the second agreement signed with the Republic of Tatarstan. In February 2019 Enel X Rus, the Enel Group’s subsidiary in Russia, and power company JSC “Tatenergo” signed a memorandum of intent aimed at enhancing cooperation in the field of e-mobility and V2G technologies.
On April 11, Carlo Palasciano will speak at a round table with a report on “Alternative Energy Becoming Useful,” highlighting the main global trends in electric power industry development and a detailed analysis of development aspects for alternative energy in Russia.
TEF-2019 has become a demonstration and communication platform for fruitful business meetings, scientific and technical conferences, round tables, expert workshops and seminars on the most relevant topics related to energy efficiency enhancement and innovative energy saving solutions.
For Enel Russia, TEF-2019 has provided additional opportunities for presenting international experience of Enel to the business community in a new region.
