The construction of wind turbines is carried out by Russian and International specialists of Enel Green Power, Enel’s global business line dedicated to the construction and operation of renewables around the world. LLC Enel Rus Wind Kola, a subsidiary of PJSC Enel Russia, is responsible for the project management together with Enel Green Power.
Kola wind farm will include 57 WTGs covering the total area of 257 hectares. The installed capacity of each turbine is around 3.5 MW.
Enel Russia was awarded 201 MW Kola WPP project as the result of the 2017 Governmental tender for the construction of wind generation facilities with 1.9 GW of total installed capacity.
The windfarm will be able to generate about 750 GWh annually avoiding the emission of approximately 600 000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.
By constructing wind farms, Enel Russia, among other goals, is striving to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG No. 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG No. 13 - Climate Action.
