On November 23-25, 2016, Moscow hosted ENES 2016, the 5th International Forum on Energy Efficiency and Energy Development. In the framework of the Forum, Enel Russia’s Open Plant project received an award of Ministry of energy for best corporate educational project within ‘Gran Prix of initiatives in the sphere of energy dedicated to the projects for the development of young talents’.
Open Plants is an Enel Group corporate project within which the power plants become a sort of meeting places to show the whole cycle of energy production and describe the energy path, illustrate the company’s great technological heritage and raise awareness of environmental projects.
The plants are also a place where visitors can learn and discover all the opportunities to make their homes more efficient: starting from projects on energy saving to electric bicycles. At Open Plants, people can inspire their energy, thanks to special areas where professionals, artists, entrepreneurs and local producers have the opportunity to showcase their skills and exhibit their work. Open Plants means interaction and sharing. Truly Open Power context.
In the framework of ENES 2016 Enel Russia also took the 3rd place in the innovation contest for young professional teams organized by the Ministry of energy. The Enel Russia’s team presented a project of big data algorithm use predicting maintenance end emergency outages. The algorithm was provided by a pool of start ups selected by the Internet initiatives development fund with which Enel Russia has signed a cooperation agreement in October.
Enel Russia team called «Enel energy generation» consisted of 9 people and performed along with 17 other teams in the interactive session «The heat and power generation». The leader and the representative of the project prepared the official document, the «artists» made slides on flipcharts, communication manager talked with experts in the directions to adjust the project idea, the press attaché fixed moments of work in social networks, the timekeeper followed the training, the leader ran the whole team. Within an hour, work was undertaken to prepare for the presentation of the initiative, then within 2 minutes, the initiative was presented by the speaker, and the short session of questions and answers gave a comprehensive understanding of the essence of the initiative.
The jury of experts evaluated the initiative on the following characteristics: the importance of the proposed initiative for the industry and the company, the level of initiative development, the feasibility of the initiative in the horizon of 2017, the quality of the presentation of results and the compliance with topics of the All-Russian Festival of energy saving planned in 2017.
